*Access Intensive Counseling’s court ordered parenting group meets on the first Wednesday of every month. *The West Virginia Dance Co. will perform “Reflections: An Evening of Modern Dance” at the Chuck Mathena Center on Saturday, October 7th at 7pm. WVDC, West Virginia’s only professional touring dance company, will present their new work “The Mountains Speak” with music by champion fiddler, Jake Krack. Tickets are $18.00. *The UVa-Wise Abingdon office is very excited to bring The Willis Clan to the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center on Sunday, October 25th.  Doors will open at 5pm and the show will begin at 6pm.  Concessions will be available throughout the event.  The Willis Clan is a family of amazing musicians, dancers, athletes, writers, and artists.  Living near Nashville, Tennessee, they merge their Irish roots with other music and dance genres to create a unique blend of the old and new.  You can learn more about the Willis Clan by tuning into their hit series on TLC or by visiting their website:

*Get ready for the annual Alderson Hospitality House of Horrors!  See the scariest movie characters come to life at our Dead and Breakfast.  This year's House of Horrors is taking place on October 27th, 28th, and 29th from 7pm-9pm each night.  Tickets cost $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12.  In addition to the Haunted House, there will be family friendly activities at the park across the street from the house. We are located at 203 High Street in Alderson, WV.  Please park near the train station or in the Presbyterian Church Parking Lot. 

*Thompson Valley Community Center will be hosting Monthly Music Jam Saturday on November 7th.  Music will start at 6pm.  Everyone welcome to attend and/or participate!  There will be a covered dish dinner starting at 5:30pm.  This is a free event, donations are accepted but not required.  For more info, contact Tammy Allison at 276-200-4179.

*Bluefield College is hosting a fall art show, now through November 12th, titled “Movements of the Body” and featuring the works of figurative artist Jordan Lively, in BC’s Art Gallery on the first floor of Lansdell Hall from 8am-6pm weekdays. The exhibit is open and free to the public. Weekend hours may be obtained by calling the Bluefield College Art Department at 276-326-4558.

*“Ragtime – The Broadway Musical” will be performed at the Chuck Mathena Center on Tuesday, November 17th at 7pm. The Tony Award winning musical will bring Broadway to CMC for the first time! This compelling story of hope at the turn of the 20th

*Bluefield College’s Masterworks Chorale will begin rehearsals in preparation for its Fall 2015 concert and, as always, community residents are invited to be a part of the college/community choir.  Masterworks rehearsals will take place on Mondays from 7pm-9pm in the lower level of Harman Chapel, room 103, through Monday, November 30th in preparation for the group’s performance as part of Bluefield College’s “Christmas at Bluefield” musical, theatrical and multimedia production, Friday and Saturday, December 4th & 5th.  For more information, call 276-326-4258 or email
